The breath-taking beauty of the Grand Canyon, the quiet and solitude, the pace of our lives, the adventures of hiking, paddling, and wild-rapid running, the wonderful meals, as well as the friendships of our trip guides and fellow travelers provided a much needed respite from the hectic pace of the "outside world". My body and spirit are renewed and multi-tasking is still impossible for me...how wonderful! As Derik would say, "easy forward and RELAX." Our guides: Ed, Lorna, Derik, Dirk, Fred and Jack were wonderful....they provided info/education on the Grand Canyon development and history of discovery that was fascinating. They provided us with great hikes, pushed our limits while giving choices and support, had a great sense of humor and I think had a good time with us! I shall return some year soon, either Spring or Fall for another trip. Thanks so very much.

There's a real "feeling of family" among the AzRA folks ~ from the river guides and shuttle bus drivers to the orientation and Red River Sports hostesses and the office personnel. The staff is very pleasant, has a positive demeanor, is cohesive, operates as a team, and wants to please the guests.

The trip was awesome in every way. The beauty of the river, the Canyon itself, and the hike to the graineries were some of our highlights. The trip exceeded all of our expectations. The leaders, Harlan and Laura, always made us feel at ease and we will always be thankful to the crew. The motor trip is a wonderful way to see the Grand Canyon and the river up close. The flowers and greenery were so pretty; the rapids were breathtaking. The hikes, the stories, and the memories we will cherish for a lifetime.

I was impressed with the guides attention to safety. They were cognizant of possible dangers and made sure we were aware too. I was also very impressed with the overall organization of AzRA with the attention to details such as the pre-trip orientation all the way through the end of the trip. I will definitely recommend this trip to others. Thanks for a wonderful time.

Enjoying the unhurried life in the natural canyon was my favorite aspect of the trip. No contact with the outside world was great. The hiking was more challenging than I remembered but fun! My entire family loved the trip from the whitewater to the staff to the stars. Your team is so well organized and in tune to the guests. Six days flew by quickly!

The highlight of the trip was experiencing the beauty, variety, and power of the Canyon. I will always remember sharing the time with my three children in a place of such power and beauty. Thanks to the guides who helped bring out the best of us as individuals and as a group. Our group had two vegetarians, one vegan and four omnivores. The food for all was outstanding. My sincere compliments to the menu planner and river crew.

June 2008 motor trip
I was focused on the river and whitewater challenges before the trip. But the camping, stories, and hiking plus new comrades were great pluses. The food was exceptional. The enormity of the whole experience and the incredible impact to all the senses was my highlight. I really appreciated being helped and encouraged kindly to exceed my personal best. Trading between the different boats was great. Peg V.

I will recommend AzRA to friends and co-workers who want to run the Canyon. This was my sixth raft trip through the Grand Canyon but my first on a motorized trip with a commercial outfitter. I had concerns about the motor on the boat and the length of the trip. The motor was not too obnoxious in fact in the wind it was barely noticeable. Eight days was of course too short. The seating was comfortable and I liked being able to get up and walk around on the boat. I appreciated the snacks available throughout the day. Thanks for another delightful journey to my very favorite place.

At first I wasn't all too excited to go on this trip because I had my doubts. However, after going on this trip I feel it will be one of the best experiences I will ever have. Thank you AzRA for giving me the time of my life.

We had a wonderful time and have been savoring the experience. The vastness of the Canyon puts life in perspective. Our lives which we feel are so important are nothing more than a speck in time. The Canyon heals the mind and spirit - may it always be protected!

The highlight of the trip was watching my autistic daughter absorb all the trip had to offer and fit in with the group. The guides were beyond great. They went out of their way to see that she had a successful trip.

My guides made the trip for me. They were always available and working hard to make the Grand Canyon a great outdoor experience. The guides commitment to the Canyon itself was awe-inspiring. They clearly love it and want to share it with their passengers.

The trip was amazing. I honestly didn't know what to expect so I went in with an open mind. The hikes were more difficult than I expected but hey, I am not in shape so I knew it would be hard anyway. The toilet arrangement exceeded my expectations. The best part was this trip really pushed the limits of what I thought I could do. I feel a lot more adventurous now. People should know you will be camping in sand.
The guides went above and beyond my expectations. If there is one factor that would convince me to go on an AzRA trip again over any other company it would be the quality of the guides. They knew everything. They were fascinating people, they were friendly, they were our nightly comedy show! I felt very safe with them and I didn't feel like they were judging my athletic ability or treating me differently because I was on the trip with my parents and little sister.
This trip brought out a lot of qualities about myself I didn't know I had.

I was amazed the note I wrote regarding my dislike for cilantro was taken seriously. The guides made special portions for me with no cilantro. It was so nice and thoughtful.

The highlight of my trip was obviously the magnificent scenery... that goes without saying! But what really impressed me was the enthusiasm, knowledge and genuine passion of the guides. They really made the trip special. Let me point out I am a hard person to please. But I must unequivocally say this trip far exceeded my expectations. It was the perfect trip. I was completely satisfied with the journey and the professional well-oiled machine which is AzRA. I will be recommending AzRA to all my friends and associates who want to experience the breathtaking magic of the Grand Canyon!
