People come on motor trips with us in the Grand
Canyon because they want the comfort and security of a larger motorized raft, a personal group size,
and more time in the Canyon for exploration.

A motor trip is a wonderful way to experience
the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon
on an 8-day or a 10-day whitewater rafting adventure.
Arizona Raft Adventures and Grand Canyon
Discovery take a lot of pride in
producing what we believe is the best motor trip available
in the Grand Canyon at
any price. Our motor trips are perfect for people who
want the sense of security and comfort of a larger raft,
more time in the Canyon for exploration and a moderate group size.
Not only are our rafts roomier than other commercial
motor trips in the Grand Canyon, most of our trips are comprised
of one boat that is held to around 13
passengers. We also have several two boat trips with a maximum of 24
guests. On either a one boat trip or a two boat trip,
our group sizes are smaller than most other motor outfitters.
In addition, your group will remain together
the entire trip without the interruption
of other guests leaving or joining the trip at
exchange points. This
means you get more personal attention from our
guides and bonding with new friends is natural and easy in this setting.
Another bonus of the motorized trip is our ability to carry folding camp chairs (unlike our hybrid and all-paddle trips where raft space is very limited). Finally, Arizona Raft Adventures pioneered the use of quiet, four stroke
engines, and the motors are just big enough to steer our 32-34 foot long
rafts. Our custom designed boat is comfortable
and still offers
excitement through the rapids.

You see 225 miles of the Colorado River, from the "put-in" location at
Lee's Ferry to the "take-out" location at Diamond Creek. On an 8-day
and a 10-day trip, the pace allows plenty of time to adjust to group needs.
One day we might enjoy an early
camp, another day we spend more time hiking and
playing up side streams and canyons. Side hikes are optional; however,
we encourage you to come along as some of the most spectacular scenery in the Grand Canyon is up
the side canyons.

*On certain occasions your trip may end on Lake Mead. Although rare, in the case of severe
flooding on Diamond Creek road (the road we have to travel down to pick you up at
Diamond Creek), we will have to take you all the way to Lake Mead. You will still return to Flagstaff
that day but it will be late in the evening.
